Peter Thomas Roth Camu Camu x30 Products

Camu Camu is a berry from the Amazon. Peter Thomas Roth, the genius behind this product, stumbled upon this amazing antioxidant while out searching for new, natural ingredients for his products. This berry is 30x the potency of Vitamin C. VItamin C is in most natural skin brightening formulas  (others contain retinol).

PTR has two different types of Camu Camu treatments: the Camu Camu VitaminC Serum, and the Camu Camu VitaminC Moisturizer. They both smell like citrus and I'm the type of person that if I'm putting something on my face, I better like the smell! They smell amazing! Both ultimately have the same results. Over time, with consistant use, this formula will help reduce the appearance of acne scars, hyper-pigmentation, rosacia, and age spots. A lot of the issues are a result from pregnancy, hormones, sun exposure and age. VitaminC serves as a brightener and relieves your concerns of unwanted marks.

Camu Camu Serum:

This is good for both day and night. It's light, and dissolves without leaving any residue. You still need to follow with a moisturizer, the serum does not replace that. The serum also helps to restore collagen. So not only will it brighten your areas of concern, but it will also tighten. I got my mother and several of my clients hooked on this. I also use this product religiously!  This product is not as concentrated as the moisturizer, but is still very effective.

Camu Camu Moisturizer:

As I said before, the moisturizer is more concentrated, which means quicker results. I had a client with extreme acne scars. She started with the moisturizer, used it day and night, came back to see me about 2 months later and her skin looked AMAZING. It was at that point that she switched to the serum. She no longer needed a product with that type of potency. The moisturizer is an excellent starting point if you are having issues with dark marks/age marks, acne scars, and/or hyper-pigmentation.

I had my very own personal experience with the Camu Camu moisturizer earlier this week. I got a little too happy with a glycolic mask! As a result, my skin was so dry and flakey. I was putting on my Boscia Nightly Moisturizer like crazy, and then I used the Camu Camu moisturizer. The Camu Camu was the only thing that helped. In the matter of one night, my skin was 75% better than it was when I went to bed. I mixed it with Josie Maran's 100% Argan oil. The combination of the two are amazing! The moisturizer isn't something I personally, would use on a daily basis. My skin is super oily and I have only been using it to help restore my skin to a healthy state. Once my skin is back to normal, I will switch back to using it twice a week and then continue with my Boscia moisturizer on the other nights. The serum usually does it for me, I use it on a daily basis. It really helps to keep my blemishes from leaving ugly scars.

You can layer the serum and moisturizer if you'd like, but I would reccommend only doing that before bed when your body is in repair mode. That is when your skin will benefit from the product most, and sometimes layering them can feel a little heavy. I wouldn't put both on under makeup, it will be too oily. It's better if you combine the two in the evening.
